Mitacs is a national, not-for-profit organization that designs and delivers research and training programs in Canada. Since 2010, Trojan has been investing a significant portion of its research budget to hire interns from the Mitacs program and has worked with researchers at Western University, the University of British Columbia, the University of Guelph, McMaster University, the University of Waterloo and the University of Windsor.
“We are in the water treatment business, you need to get that right,” said Trojan’s Chief Technology Officer, Linda Gowman.
“The only way that you know that that’s right is if you do the research and invest in the engineering, and so we look for partnerships with people that are experts in areas that we have a need to learn about … when the Mitacs program became known to us, it just seemed like a very natural fit.”
