Trojan Rows For A Purpose
On Saturday, June 10 at Fanshawe’s Conservation Area in London, Ontario, Carlos’ Crew raced in the 6th Annual Fanshawe Dragon Boat Festival. The crew, made up of 24 Trojan Technologies’ associates, rowed in memory of Carlos Oliveira, a cherished member of the Trojan family who lost his battle against cancer.
The fundraiser was organized and hosted by the Rowbust Breast Cancer Survivor Dragon Boat Team. Trojan was a proud Gold sponsor of the event which is designed to promote and expand the sport of dragon boat racing, encourage healthy activity and community spirit, all the while raising funds for ACT Now.
Fifty-two registered teams enjoyed the sunny weather, friendly competition, and helped to raise more than $16,417.00 for the initiative held at the London Health Sciences Foundation (LHSF) to help patients pay for cancer treatment.
Carlos’ Crew raced 3 x 500m races and placed 17th overall! The team raised just over $2,000.00 and they plan to “Take It Away” again next year!
