Trojan Goes Purple To Shine The Light On Woman Abuse

Since 2007, the London Abused Women’s Centre (LAWC) has been running the highly successful “Shine the Light on Woman Abuse” campaign.

During the month of November, homes, neighborhoods, businesses, cities, and counties are encouraged to ‘go purple’ to raise awareness of violence against women. The campaign was designed to support abused women in understanding that any shame and/or blame felt, does not belong to them but to the perpetrators of their abuse; and to raise the profile of the community agencies that can provide abused women with help as they attempt to live their lives free from violence and abuse.

Continuing to Shine the Light

2017 marks Trojan’s 6th year supporting the campaign and to help raise awareness, Trojan sported purple lights in the cafeteria throughout the month. On December 15 (Wear Purple Day), many associates wore purple and beautiful merchandise was sold in the cafeteria.

Trojan raised over $700 through personal donations and the sale of scarves, socks, pins, and keychains – the proceeds of which was all donated to the London Abused Women’s Centre.

Let’s all continue to ‘Shine the Light’, and work to end abuse against women.
